Floreat

Floreat is a vocal ensemble – usually but not always an octet – originating from and associated with the main choir.  Directed by Gilly French, the a capella group performs without a conductor.

The group was established from Cantandum in 2008 to sing the termly Choral Eucharist services at St John’s Smith Square.   Our inaugural concert as Floreat took place in October 2016, at Westminster Abbey Chapter House.

We sing 3-4 for services and give 2-3 concerts a year.  Our repertory is mostly Renaissance polyphony, but we do stray occasionally into the 18th and 20th centuries!
